Honduras Santa Elena is sourced from a family-owned farm in collaboration with Catracha Coffee Company. Adan Hernandez Amaya produced this micro-lot on a 4 acre farm called El Esfuerzo located in the municipality of Santa Elena within the department of La Paz, Honduras. Catracha Coffee works with a select group of farmers who participate in monthly educational seminars to improve upon their coffee production. These capacity building opportunities have helped Adan increase yields and improve the coffee quality. Adan receives all the profits associated with the sale of his exported coffee, which is the main source of income for him, his wife Juana, and three children. Adan has used some of his earnings to build a micro wet-mill to give him full control over processing his coffee.
