Story

Many of the farmers in Ethiopia produce very small quantities of cherry, so it is very beneficial to have a central milling station with a manager that demonstrates the highest of quality standards. Natural processed coffees are difficult to achieve without fermented fruit, but if it is well-cared for and monitored, a coffee such as our Ethiopia Natural is achieved, presenting juicy-fruit aromatics.

Natural identifies the method of coffee processing that takes place at the farm level. Although natural coffee can go by several different names - like natural processed, unwashed, or dry processed - it all basically means the sun has done all of the processing. Although it is a simple process, it's certainly not easy. To create naturally processed coffee, hundreds of coffee cherries are spread out in the sun, which are then turned by hand to make sure they dry evenly to prevent mildew. This process can take up to four weeks to get the coffee cherries completely dry - that's a lot of turning! If all goes well, natural processed coffees deliver unique and amazing flavors.

Absolutely terrific
This has to be the best coffee that I have had. It is my go to, when I just want a cup in the afternoons, evenings or just to treat myself. The blueberry notes are delicious.

Aeropress
Water right off boil
18g of coffee, hand ground wth a Hairo Skerton
Pour in 50g of water, let it bloom for 30 sec.
Stir 3 times then finish up with 220g of water (270 total)
Let is stand for 1:30, and slowing press for 30 seconds.

Love it.

Very nice
I became a fan of unwashed, natural coffees circa 2008, when Starbucks released an Ethiopian Sun Dried Sidamo around Christmas time. We all know the various knocks on Starbucks, but this was a very nice coffee. Since then, I have sought out unwashed, natural coffee. The effect of the cherry drying around the bean - if done right - is luscious in terms of taste. This coffee Kochere natural has this characteristic. It's a beautiful coffee with exceptional tasting notes that I will be buying as long as available. Thanks to The Roasterie for finding and making this coffee available.

I like it!
I enjoyed this coffee blind. The blueberry overtone was amazing considering it’s natural.

Superb
It's hard to believe no-one has reviewed this coffee in the last six years. If you like natural unwashed coffees this is excellent. My favorite coffee out of the six or eight various coffees I've tried from the Roasterie, hands down.

Clever Dripper (18oz size)
Water @ 200F
29g coffee to 415g water
3-3.5min from start of pour to when you sit the dripper on your vessel to drain.

Lovely
I stumbled on this one day when visiting the plant off southwest boulevard. The cashier strongly suggested this and her enthusiasm and salesmanship, piqued my curiosity. Plus when she insisted I smell it!

Wow! The smell of blueberrys and apriocts is wonderful.
when it brews, the entire house smells lovely.

This is NOT bitter and really one doesnt need to put anything in the coffee, but if one must, some almond milk works great. It dont use sugar with this.

This is my favorite and I hope it never runs out.

I also understand the staff loves this as well.

Great taste! Addicting!
Love this coffee. I drove down to the Roasterie where Betty the airplane is displayed. The flavors I wanted, I had to purchase at the actual restaurants cause those restaurants own the rights. Disappointed and needing coffee, the barista suggested this one. Reluctant cause past experience with Ethopian coffee is really dark and aftertaste. The taste is great. Love how my house smells like blueberries and apricots. This is my wake up coffee. Love it! Will continue to buy!

The best coffee ever
The Natural has a clean slightly lemon clean finish. A wonderful morning coffee best brewed with very hot filtered water with a screen no paper. You will NOT be disappointed.

This is my daily coffee most mornings. I find the brew fully flavored with very low bitterness. My preference is to sweeten with Splenda and use heavy cream (about 45 ML)in a large insulated travel cup.
