Decaffeinated Coffee
Giving up the caffeine doesn’t mean you have to give up the flavor you love!
We strive to produce decaf coffee that tastes like it would if it hadn’t been decaffeinated. Caffeine is a natural component of coffee, which is why we use Mountain Water Process to decaffeinate our coffee beans, which maintains the overall balance of the flavor profile — the relative relationships between flavors. All the highs and lows you would expect, from coffee that is naturally decaffeinated.
All Roasterie Decaffeinated Coffees are decaffeinated using the same water process. The green, un-roasted coffee beans are steamed to prepare for caffeine removal and then introduced to a proprietary green coffee extract. The caffeine naturally ventures away from the coffee beans and into the extract by osmosis. The beans are monitored closely until they are 99.9% caffeine-free. After extraction, the coffee is triple-dried to ensure each bean is dried delicately and precisely.
The time that we take to monitor the decaffeination process to ensure each batch is at the perfect temperature for the exact amount of time makes the difference. You will not find that your coffee’s flavor profile has been “dialed down”. That means no missing brightness, sweetness, or complexities.
