The Roasterie’s 20th Anniversary Party

We’ve been celebrating the Roasterie’s 20th anniversary all year, but something still wasn’t quite right. That’s when we realized we hadn’t celebrated with the most important people of all: our customers! So, of course, we threw the best party of al with our Roasterie customers, family and friends for an evening we’ll never forget.

As one entered The Roasterie Factory Café, one couldn’t help but feel the excitement in the air. It was obvious that every guest was full of pride and joy to see how far the Roasterie has come. After all, everyone attending has loved The Roasterie for quite a long time.

That includes people like Chef Ali Shirazi who was one of our first restaurant accounts. He’s also the reason we have our Roasterie BBQ Sauce and Roasterie Rub!

“It’s wonderful. I’m so proud of [The Roasterie],” Ali said. “It’s only going to grow more. I love being a part of this company that started so small.”

As our wonderful guests nibbled on appetizers provided by Lon Lane’s Inspired Occasions, a timeline of all of The Roasterie’s accomplishments played overhead in our event space, the Bean Hangar. And they weren’t snacking on just any appetizers, either. We got a little Roasterie-centric for our 20th anniversary (but, hey, can you blame us?)

Lon Lane’s Inspired Occasions helped give all of our refreshments had a distinct Roasterie edge. Of course we provided savory barbecue featuring our Roasterie BBQ sauce and rub, but many of our snacks were deliciously roasted like our oven-roasted corn dip. Plus we incorporated the perfect amount of coffee flavor into our desserts. Our guests enjoyed The Roasterie cappuccino brownies and even homemade coffee ice cream.

But we didn’t keep this celebration confined to the Bean Hangar! This party also took place in our very own factory. The factory was decked out with beautiful ice sculptures, but they weren’t just there to look pretty! When our guests ordered our chocolate coffee cocktail – made of our exclusive Dizzy Three air-roasted espresso-flavored vodka and creme de cocoa – it was poured through the ice sculptures!

Ice sculptures included this beautiful replica of The Roasterie Founder Danny O’Neill’s very first air-roaster. What a perfect way to celebrate how far we’ve come!

While sipping on their yummy cocktails, guests enjoyed the jazzy sounds of David Basse, a long-time friend of The Roasterie. David insisted on helping us celebrate and we couldn’t have asked for a better musician!

We also invited the Photo Bus to help our guests always remember this amazing night of celebration! Guests hopped into this VW bus to take silly pictures as a keepsake.

But our favorite moment of the night was probably Danny’s big surprise for The Roasterie’s Master Roaster Norman Killmon. Everyone was enjoying the 20th anniversary celebration when suddenly the factory was filled with the roar of an engine. This wasn’t a regular engine, either. It was the roar of a 1937 John Deere tractor that had been refurbished to feel brand new.

Danny announced this was a special gift for our beloved Norm’s 20th anniversary with The Roasterie coming up in March. It was a beautiful moment for everyone as we were all overcome with gratitude for everyone in the room.

Danny went on to address the entire room, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This is the best city in the world!”

So thank you Kansas City and to all of our Roasterie fans out there. Here’s to 20 more years of giving you the best coffee in the world!
