On the southern tip of the Arabian peninsula, Yemen is famously regarded as the birthplace of coffee cultivation. For centuries Yemen was the epicenter of the international coffee community, and today we continue to respect it for its tradition and quality. The Roasterie's Al-Makha Arabian Mocha Sana'ani comes from a small holding of coffee grown in the remote and ancient highlands of the Sana'a province of central Yemen. Here coffee is grown along terraces painstakingly carved into the arid mountainside centuries ago. Unique "Arabic" coffee varietals are irrigated with a system of springs and canales older than the coffee trade itself. This area is so remote that the naturally processed coffee must be carried through mountain passes on the backs of donkeys in order to reach a passable road. Once arriving at the famous port of Mocha, our coffee endured a rigorous grading process to ensure our high standards of consistency and quality have been met.

Sana'ani is a full and complex cup, brimming with berry and body. Deep fruity flavors add excitement to every sip. Dark ripe blueberry and tart juicy blackberry develop into light lemon citrus and crisp green apple tones. The round and smooth body compliments the palate like a freshly baked cobbler, finishing with hints of toasted almond and sugary sweet raspberry.
