THE ROASTERIE'S BEAN CORPS
Bean Corps is The Roasterie coffee company's volunteer "street team." Bean Corps members are a vital part of The Roasterie's public presence at tours and special events, as well as our large and small-scale company volunteer efforts. As a "thank you" for their hard work and dedication, Bean Corps members get special access to events, and (after Roasterie staff) first dibs on coveted entry to events like Jazzoo and Forks & Corks, and inclusion on Roasterie-sponsored teams for area road races. Bean Corps is an extension of The Roasterie staff, and very much a part of The Roasterie family.
Bean Corps members members must:
- love Roasterie coffee.
- love people
- love talking to people about Roasterie coffee.
- be willing and able to dedicate at least three hours per month to The Roasterie’s designated Bean Corps volunteer opportunities (see below).
Bean Corps members in good standing receive:
- access to special events around the Kansas City area (when available).
- entry onto Roasterie-sponsored teams for area races and walks (when available).
- their very own bean name (e.g. "Chatty Bean," "Green Bean," "Scene Bean" — but those are taken! Part of the fun is coming up with your own.).
- a chance to help further The Roasterie's mission of helping the hungry in Kansas City.
- a 12-oz bag of coffee each month to be picked up at The Roasterie plant.
- a very cool t-shirt (Annual Benefit).
- a catered volunteer appreciation party for Bean Corps members and their plus-ones (Annual Benefit.)
Volunteer Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
-
Helping out with Saturday tours (3 hours each)
- Helping in The Roasterie's Green Bean Garden (2 hours each)
- Quarterly food packing with Harvesters (2 hours each)
- Staffing The Roasterie's tables at events (hours vary by event)
- Grocery store demonstrations
